The story behind
Hi, I’m Katja
I discovered meditation over a decade ago during a corporate mindfulness workshop while working at Microsoft in New York. I quickly discovered that it was more than just a stress reduction and productivity tool. It provided me with insights into the nature of my mind and, over time, gave me the ability to consciously decide where I want to focus my attention.
This shift has made me a genuinely better and happier person and led me to a pivotal decision. At 32, I decided to walk away from my corporate career and began training in yoga and meditation, driven by a deep curiosity about the connection between mental and physical health. Eventually, I began studying medicine and am now finishing my degree, with the goal of specializing in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy.
After practicing yoga and meditation in big cities for over ten years, I noticed a persistent pattern. We share the room and we share the practice, but the moment the class is over, everyone rushes out. There is little room to actually connect or integrate the experience together. You can spend years in the same studio and still not know a single person.
I want to change that. During my time in New York, I experienced both large group meditations and smaller gatherings — and the energy created when people sit in stillness together always stayed with me. It creates an immediate sense of connection between strangers and opens the door for honest, meaningful conversations.
With KINSPACE, I want to bring that experience to Vienna. I want to create a space where people can meditate together, but also connect, reflect and show up for each other.
To make it a shared experience rather than an isolated practice.
“I created KINSPACE because meditation changed my life — but I realized something was missing: a community to practice together.”
